Evolution of Fuji Speedway in Gran Turismo (2004 - 2022 / GT4 - GT7)

Gran Turismo 7 has been released and it not only brings back several of the iconic original tracks from GT1 but it also features some real world race tracks that have been part of the franchise for over 15 years. One of these tracks is Fuji Speedway. Here you can see a fast lap on the modern layout of Fuji with the Nissan R92CP in every major GT game that included the track, showing the evolution of the track and the car throughout the history of the franchise.

Fuji Speedway was first included in Gran Turismo 4 and it has returned in every major GT game since then. In GT4 there were even several historic versions of the track as well but in this video I am only showing the modern version, which is also the only one that returned in the following games.

In each game I am using the Nissan R92CP, which is the final Group C car by Nissan. This car also first appeared in GT4, so it was featured in exactly the same games as Fuji. According to the ingame description of the car it actually reached a speed of 400 km/h on the main straight of Fuji in real life but in the games it is a little bit slower.

I am using the softest race tires that are available in each game and I also installed the turbo upgrade in GT7 to bring that version more in line with the other ones in terms of power, although it is still the slowest version of the car either way. I also had to do a race instead of time trial in GT7, since time trial is only available in wet or dark conditions for this track there.

GT4 was played on emulator, GT 5-6 on PS3 and GT Sport and GT7 on PS5.

I have spent a lot of time on the track to record the fastest and cleanest laps possible for this video, as you can probably tell from some of the lap counters. Hopefully people will appreciate the effort that I put into this video to make it as good as possible. :)

Feel free to share the video with friends or in GT-related Discord servers if you enjoy it and maybe we can get it trending on YouTube like my previous track evolution videos a few months ago.

What are your thoughts about Fuji Speedway, the Nissan R92CP and the different Gran Turismo games? Feel free to share your feelings in the comments.

I have also made the same type of video for High Speed Ring, Trial Mountain, Deep Forest and Laguna Seca. Check out those videos here:
